Weekly road report for Jan. 10

The following road work by the Florida Department of Transportation and the city of Gainesville could impact traffic this week.
County Road 235A - Possible daytime lane closures from U.S. 441 to north of Santa Fe High School to construct sidewalks.
North Main Street - Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed lanes on the west side of the road between University and Eighth avenues. One lane in each direction will be maintained while crews reconstruct the east side of the roadway. Sections of sidewalk are closed and pedestrians should cross Main Street at designated crosswalks only. Traffic is detoured around the intersection with Depot Avenue for underground utility work. Motorists will be directed to Southwest Fourth Avenue, Southwest Sixth Street, Southwest 16th Avenue and back to Main Street. Local traffic has access, but will be unable to cross the intersection.
Northwest 13th Street - Daytime lane closures south of Northwest 16th Avenue while a driveway crews work on the driveway at CVS Pharmacy.
Southwest 13th Street - Daytime lane closures just south of Archer Road near the new Shands parking garage to install sidewalk and brick pavers.
University Avenue - The road will be completely closed between East First Street and Waldo Road (State Road 24) Monday (January 18) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative March. Traffic will be detoured by Gainesville Police Department.
U.S. 301 in Orange Heights - Possible daytime lane closures just south of State Road 26 while crews work on the roadway shoulder and in the median to build a new overpass.
U.S. 41 - Possible daytime lane closures at Southwest 30th Avenue south of Newberry for construction of a westbound turn lane and to pave a small section of Southwest 30th Avenue.
Waldo Road - Daytime lane closures south of Northeast 23rd Avenue near the UF Eastside campus for work on turn lanes in the median.
Waldo Road - The road will be completely closed between University and Northeast Eighth avenues Monday (January 18) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative March. Traffic will be detoured by Gainesville Police.
West University Avenue - Night time lane closures Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. between 13th Street and Gale Lemerand Drive (by the O'Connell Center) for sidewalk repairs.
Southwest Eighth Avenue Sidewalk – Expect sidewalk closure from Southwest 11th Street, east for half a block on the south side of the road through July 2010.
Southwest 11th Street Sidewalk – Expect sidewalk closure from Southwest Eighth Avenue, south for one block on the east side of the road through July 2010.
Northwest First Ave. – Closed at Northwest 17th Street from Dec. 22 until Feb. 2010.
Northwest 17th Street – The roadway and sidewalks will be closed from University to just north of Northwest First Avenue from Dec. 22 until Feb. 2010.
Northeast 24th Street – Intermittent daytime road closures between Northeast Sixth Avenue and Northeast Eighth Avenue through January 2010 due to construction of drainage pipe and pond. Access to residents will be made available at all times. Residents should use caution as large trucks are entering the roadway at Northeast Eighth Avenue and Northeast 25th Street.
Depot Ave. - The roadway between Main Street and Southeast Seventh Street is closed for GRU remediation work and City road work. Eastbound Depot Avenue traffic will be detoured to Southeast Fifth Avenue. Westbound Depot Avenue traffic will be detoured to Southeast Fifth Avenue at several cross streets. Northbound traffic on Southeast Fourth Street will be detoured to Southeast 10th Avenue.
