ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando man who told police his wife was killed in a home invasion has been arrested and charged in her death.

Orange County deputies responded to a report of a home invasion late Friday. They found 28-year-old Deborah Ratliff had been shot dead at the home.

While interviewing her husband, 30-year-old Robert Ratliff, authorities discovered that the couple had been arguing before the shooting. The husband later indicated that he accidentally shot her.

After interviewing him extensively and examining evidence from the shooting scene, homicide investigators charged Ratliff with first degree murder with a firearm in his wife's death.

He was booked into the Orange County jail. No bond had been set on Saturday.
