Bedford officially joins Strong in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville officially has a defensive coordinator.
Vance Beford made the move from the University of Florida final on Friday, joining new Cardinals coach Charlie Strong's staff.
Bedford worked with Strong at Florida, coaching cornerbacks the past two seasons. He previoiusly worked as defensive coordinator at Oklahoma State from 2005-06.
Bedford's hiring moves Strong's staff closer to completion. He retained cornerbacks coach Larry Slade from Steve Kragthorpe's staff. On Tuesday he named Kenny Carter running backs coach, Jon Fabris defensive line coach and Pat Moorer strength and conditioning coach. He interviewed Georgia Tech linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary on Thursday.
Bedford joins new offensive coordinator Mike Sanford.
