Thank you, Gator Nation, for providing a great experience at the Sugar Bowl for our son, Brandon. His grandfather and my wife and I treated him to a Sugar Bowl trip for his 13th birthday. This was the first college football game he attended, and it was an experience our family will talk about for many years.
As life-long residents of Texas, we enjoyed watching the Gators in person, as well as the fans around us in Section 104 in the Superdome. We especially appreciated the hospitality of the young couple who sat behind us on Row 10. They were positive representatives of Gainesville and the University of Florida. They offered to take our family's picture, gave a souvenir Gators' sports pack to Brandon, and offered for him to listen to the game on their radio. We appreciated their kindness.
I also want to thank staff writer Joe Byrnes for including Brandon in a story he wrote for the Jan. 1 issue of the Sun. Brandon has enjoyed watching the Gators on television and was excited to offer his support for the University of Florida. We couldn't have picked a better game for Brandon to watch as a Gators' fan.
And, finally, I want to thank Tim Tebow for being an outstanding Christian role model for our son and other youth. Well done! After our Sugar Bowl experience, I would have to admit that if my family ever lives outside of Texas, then Gainesville, Florida, will be at the top of my list!
