ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Police are trying to find out who threw a bottle of hydrochloric acid at a homeless woman sleeping outside of a St. Petersburg soup kitchen.
The attack happened early Wednesday morning near a St. Vincent de Paul Society food center. Witnesses say someone threw a plastic bottle out of a car. The bottle struck a stop sign and exploded.
Chemicals inside the bottle landed on blankets covering the homeless woman, but she wasn't injured.
