TAMPA, Fla. — The cold weather is causing airport delays at Tampa International Airport, which doesn't have deicing equipment.
Seven flights were delayed at the airport early Thursday morning because of frost on the planes' wings. Airport spokeswoman Kelly Figley says two Delta-Northwest flights and five Southwest flights were delayed up to two hours.
Figley says the airlines were waiting for the sun to come up to melt the frost.
Temperatures in Tampa hovered around 36 degrees Thursday morning.
