TAMPA, Fla. — City officials and organizers of the Gasparilla pirate festival want revelers to behave themselves during the annual party.

Police are cracking down because people who live near the parade route have complained in previous years about inebriated people urinating on lawns and passing out in driveways. Underage drinking has also previously been a problem.

The annual pirate-themed event, which takes place on Jan. 30, attracts as many as 350,000 people. It is a Mardi Gras-style event, with parade floats, a street festival and concerts.
