ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting of a car theft suspect by Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies in Orlando.
The unidentified suspect was shot early Tuesday by deputies from the agency's auto theft unit.
The suspect was believed to have been in a stolen vehicle when deputies tried to stop him at an apartment complex.
Deputies say they boxed in the suspect, who then began to ram their vehicles in an attempt to escape.
Authorities say that's when deputies fired on the suspect.
