Strong talks with Louisville

Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong confirmed to The Sun on Monday morning that he was interviewed by Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich on Sunday night but that no decision was made on whether Strong will be the next coach at Louisville.

Strong told The Sun he will have another conversation with Jurich today. Strong left for Arkansas today for the Frank Broyles Award dinner. He is a finalist for the award, which goes to the assistant coach of the year in college football. The announcement is Tuesday.

Louisville fired Steve Kragthorpe after three unsuccessful seasons.

The No. 5 Gators (12-1) are coming off a disappointing 32-13 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game at ended their 22-game winning streak.
