Jacksonville Eagle’s View spoiled P.K. Yonge’s homecoming festivities Friday night by holding on for a 28-25 win.

Despite throwing five interceptions and giving up 135 yards in penalties, the Blue Wave (1-8) came up just one possession short.

With 1:19 left in the game, the Blue Wave scored when quarterback Carlon Hunt hooked up with D’karas Fields for a 4-yard TD pass to bring them within one score. A 47-yard pass from Hunt to Travail Davis put the ball inside the 10-yard line, setting up the score.

But, P.K Yonge failed to recover the onside kick, and the Warriors took four consecutive kneel-downs to end the game.

“For us to be that close — with all the mistakes that we made — shows how we have progressed as a football team,” P.K. Yonge coach Lou Seaward said. “But, still you can’t shoot yourself in the foot.”

Fields finished with three touchdown catches, the first a 16-yard pass from Hunt brought the Blue Wave within two points (at 8-6) of the Warriors (6-3) in the first quarter.

Hunt completed 15-of-24 passes for 179 yards. He teamed with tight end Tyler Hagin for a 5-yard TD pass. Davis led the Blue Wave in receiving, catching nine passes for 102 yards.
