BATON ROUGE, La. - The night was supposed to be all about Tim Tebow.

And it was.

But it was also about a dominant Florida defense.

The No. 1 Gators limited LSU to 162 yards of total offense, recorded five sacks and allowed the Tigers to score only a field goal to win 13-3 in a tension-filled matchup at Tiger Stadium in front of a record crowd of 93,129.

Florida ended LSU's streak of winning 32 straight home night games as Urban Meyer collected his first win at LSU.

"That was two sledgehammers going at each other," said Meyer. "I'm really proud of our team."

Tebow, cleared medically to play earlier Saturday, threw for 134 yards and Florida's only touchdown on a 24-yard pass to Riley Cooper late in the first half. He also rushed for 38 yards on 17 carries, showing no ill effects from the concussion he suffered two weeks ago against Kentucky.

"Three days ago I wasn't going to play him," Meyer said of Tebow. "I met with his father, Bob, and the doctors, and they told me there was no risk factor."

Florida was helped by nine penalties against LSU.

"We didn't play smart," said LSU coach Les Miles. "And we played a very talented football team."

Florida is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the SEC with a Homecoming game against Arkansas next week.
