BRADENTON, Fla. Authorities say a Bradenton woman left a small child in her car while she went shopping at a mall.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports that 31-year-old Marlin Lovely was baby-sitting a friend's 3-year-old daughter Saturday and forgot the girl in the car. A witness saw the child crying in the car and told mall security, who called 911.

Authorities arrived and broke the vehicle's window. The child was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for dehydration and later returned to her family.

Lovely was charged with child neglect. She was being held on $5,000 bail.
