Gators snag 17th football commit for 2010

Florida gained its 17th commitment of the 2010 season when Jackson, Ga., defensive end Neiron Ball verbally pledged to the Gators Monday night.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Ball competed at Florida’s annual Friday Night Lights camp and had been rumored to be committing to UF shortly after his visit.
Rivals.com rates Ball as a three-star prospect and the No. 25 defensive end in the country.
Ball had many offers from some top programs in the country including LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Clemson and Tennessee.
As a junior, Ball had 104 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 19 sacks and forced seven fumbles. He was also clocked at running a 4.5 40 Friday.
