Florida senior linebacker
Why he's No. 6: Spikes has been the main man in the Florida defense for the last two years. It's rare to find a middle linebacker who can provide the tackles necessary to make a defense good and still make big plays in the passing game but Spikes certainly fits the bill. His speed is amazing for a 250-pound linebacker and he has the muscle to provide the big hit. Just ask Knowshon Moreno. Florida's defense goes as Spikes goes and Florida coaches were both happy and surprised when he came back for his senior season.
Key number: Spikes had four interceptions a year ago, two of which he returned for important touchdowns. All four of his picks came against teams ranked in the top 25.
Fun fact: Spikes wears No. 51 because of his admiration for former Chicago linebacker Dick Butkus. With a big year, Spikes could win the award named after the former Bear.
