No. 17 CHARLES SCOTT

LSU senior running back

Why he's No. 17: Scott is the quintessential big back. At 235 pounds, he's a terror running between the tackles. He also has the speed and vision to break to the outside. And this guy knows how to get into the end zone. His 28 career rushing touchdowns are the sixth-most in school history.

Key number: LSU has only 12 1,000-yard rushers in its history — and Scott is one of them. He eclipsed the magic mark last season when he rushed for 1,174 yards.

Fun fact: Scott was a three-spot star at Jonesboro-Hodge High School in Saline, La., excelling in football, basketball and baseball. He was the football player of the year in the state his senior season.
