No. 14 RENNIE CURRAN

Georgia junior linebacker

Why he's No. 14: Curran is a tackling machine, a quick and athletic linebacker who has a nose for the ball. Curran was second in the SEC in tackles a year ago with 115 and was voted to the coaches' first team All-SEC. Curran may be undersized but he combines the ability to deliver big hits with the knack for playing pass defense and getting deep in zone coverages.

Key number: A lot of guys with gaudy numbers often pad them against inferior teams. But Curran had 14 tackles each last season against LSU and Alabama.

Fun fact: Because of his size, Georgia coaches were reluctant to start Curran early in his career. His first start finally came in the Bulldog's stunning win over Florida in 2007.
