The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man wanted for a fatal shooting in eastern Putnam County over the weekend.
Investigators reported Calvin L. Johnson, 22, of San Mateo, is considered armed and dangerous. A warrant for second-degree murder had been issued for Johnson following the death of a St. Augustine man Saturday afternoon.
Ricky Ricardo Murray, 31, had been stopped near a home off of Asia Road in the eastern half of the county when two people came up to his vehicle and demanded cash, the Sheriff's Office reported. Murray drove away but was shot as he left. He later was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officers listed Johnson as a suspect in Murray's death Tuesday but reported there was no additional information at the time regarding a motive in the case.
Anyone with information about Johnson or the case can contact the Sheriff's Office at (386)329-0800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477.
