This is the first in a 25-part series that counts down the best football players in the SEC heading into the 2009 season.
No. 25 BRANDON LaFELL
Louisiana State senior wide receiver
Why he's No. 25: He was a first-team All-SEC selection last season after having a breakout junior year in which he caught 63 passes for 929 yards and eight touchdowns. He's a big, fast, experienced receiver and one of the SEC's elite playmakers. He has caught at least one pass in 28 consecutive games.
Key number: LaFell is one of the most productive wide receivers in LSU history, with 118 career receptions for 1,725 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Fun fact: LaFell can play a little roundball, too. He was the starting point guard on a very good Lamar High team in Houston.
