Sandra: ‘On The Waterfront’

The film makes me rise out of my seat every time I see the final scene as Brando triumphs over the mob boss.

Churchill: Italy

Having taught in Florence twice, I almost think of myself as a Florentine.

Churchill: Cooking

After I graduated from college, I first went to work for Dobbs House, a restaurant and airline catering chain in Memphis, where I helped the chef develop new recipes — a low-paying, high-calorie job I thoroughly enjoyed!

Sandra: ‘Pride And Prejudice’

Since reading this novel as a teen, I continue to revisit it and applaud the gumption of Elizabeth Bennet.

Sandra: ‘The Thin Blue Line’

For its compelling subject matter and superb craftsmanship.

Churchill: ‘Night And Fog’

This is still one of the best films about the Holocaust.

Churchill: Traveling

What could be more enjoyable than meeting people from other parts of the world and experiencing other cultures!

Sandra: Rufus

My dog with the giant ears and crooked tail.
