Lake City police charged man with beating pregnant girlfriend

Lake City police arrested a man over the weekend on a charge of beating his pregnant girlfriend, the department reported.
Harold Reshard Baker, 26, was taken to the Columbia County jail on a charge of domestic violence aggravated battery, according to the Lake City Police Department.
Officer Kevin Nydam arrested Baker, who was accused of getting into a fight with the woman and hitting her in the face and biting her several times.
The woman, who did not need medical attention, told police Baker knew she was pregnant.
Baker later admitted he had been in a fight with the woman, officers reported.
