Record: 10-4

The stars: Betsy Hamm was an excellent all-around performer who finished fourth in the NCAAs; Susan Hines excelled on the vault where she scored perfect 10s four times in her career; Chrissy Van Fleet scored 16 all-around wins during her career.

What they did: If not for those pesky Georgia gymnasts, this team would have collected a lot of hardware. Florida finished second to the GymDogs in the SEC meet, the regionals and finally in the NCAA Tournament. But it was still the highest finish ever for a Gator gymnastics team. Florida's second-place finish was fueled by Susan Hines, who scored a pair of 10s in the vault during the competition. Hamm and Van Fleet were also All-Americans on this team with Hines and Hamm also collecting individual titles for Judi Markell.

Big moment: Hines had recorded two 10s earlier in the season but to do it twice in the NCAA meet on successive days put her at a different level. She won the individual vault title as well.

Fun fact: The SEC claimed the top three spots in the 1998 NCAAs when Alabama finished third just .05 points behind second-place Florida.

Quote: "We bonded that year. It was a feeling I had never experienced before that year. It was a complete team effort. And the battle for second felt like a battle for first place." Susan Hines
