Big weekend on UF campus

There will be no shortage of events on the University of Florida campus this weekend. There are numerous activities planned around the Orange and Blue Debut, beginning Friday and extending through Sunday. Kickoff for the annual spring game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The festivities will kick off on Friday morning, with the F-Club Golf Outing at Mark Bostick Golf Course. The football coaching staff will also host the Florida Football Coaches Clinic on Friday and Saturday with over 500 coaches from across the country scheduled to attend.
Fans can also enjoy other Gator sports in action this weekend, including the 20th-ranked UF baseball team, which hosts No. 16 Ole Miss for a three-game series beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at McKethan Stadium. The No. 16 women’s tennis team will host its final regular-season match Saturday morning at 10 a.m. against No. 20 South Carolina at the Ring Tennis Complex and admission is free.
Also on Saturday morning, UF Football head coach Urban Meyer will host a signing of his book, "Urban’s Way," at Gate 1 of the stadium in an effort to help raise funds for UF’s Florida Opportunity Scholars Program. The Official Gator SportShop’s annual Great Gator Yard Sale starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, and the Gator FanFest will begin at 10 a.m. outside of Gate 7.
UF Student Government is hosting the 2009 Powder Puff Football Championship Game Saturday at noon on Florida Field before the spring game. In addition, the finals of the Fastest Gator On Campus, a contest in the 40-yard dash, will be held prior to the kickoff of the Orange and Blue Debut Saturday on Florida Field inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The participants who qualified at Friday’s semifinals will have the chance to race against select members of the 2009 Florida football team.
The annual Orange and Blue Debut will kick off at 1 p.m. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m.
Shuttle buses will run on Saturday from the commuter lot on Gale Lemerand Drive (south of Museum road) to Gate 2 of the O’Connell Center. Buses will run from 10 a.m. until the conclusion of the baseball game Saturday night.
