Incoming 2009 Florida recruit Kenny Boynton was named to the McDonald's All-American team Wednesday.
Boynton, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard from Pompano Beach, was one of 24 players selected and will play for the east squad. The game will take place at the Bank United Center on the University of Miami campus on April 1.
Boynton is the first incoming Florida recruit to play in the McDonald's All-American game since both Nick Calathes and Jai Lucas played in the 2007 game. Calathes set a UF record for assists as a freshman and is currently Florida's leading scorer. Lucas, the son of former NBA point guard and coach John Lucas, transferred to Texas last December.
The other members of Florida's 2009 class — 6-10 forward Erik Murphy and 6-9 forward DeShawn Painter — did not make the McDonald's roster.
