TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Authorities say two people died when their vehicle was struck by a small plane taking off from a private runway in north Florida.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the Jeep vehicle was driving alongside the single-engine plane Sunday afternoon on private property in Leon County.
After being struck by the plane, the vehicle veered into a tree. Bergen says two people inside the vehicle were killed.
No one in the aircraft was injured.
Federal authorities are investigating.
