The rain should be over for the Gainesville region by late morning, and the clouds may break this afternoon.
Jason Hess, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, said the weekend will be mostly sunny and clear.
Temperatures could climb to the upper 50s in the afternoon, and lows around 30 are expected tonight, with possible patches of frost. Over the weekend, highs are expected to be in the upper 50s Saturday and the mid-60s Sunday.
More rain is expected Monday, along with winds reaching 20-30 mph, as a second front passes through the region early next week, according to Hess.
