Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Lake City man Wednesday who was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier this month.
Irving Jeffrey White Jr., 19, was being held at the Columbia County jail on an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge, the Sheriff’s Office reported. His bond had been set at $26,000.
The shooting occurred Jan. 16 on NW Maxwell Glenn where a fight started among neighbors. White allegedly had a .22-caliber handgun and fired at least three shots. One struck a man in the lower back.
Officers received information about where White was located Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office reported. He was caught and arrested after he ran from a home.
Deputies also recovered a gun believed to be involved in the shooting.
