MIAMI — Two mothers who are staging a hunger strike to protest cuts to public education funding are holding a rally Monday in South Florida.
Malexys Morales and Bibiana Salmon haven't eaten since Jan. 12. The pair has camped out near Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High School, trying to draw attention to cuts in education funding with their weeklong strike.
Morales said though she might take a break from the strike soon, the pair has a list of other mothers who are willing to continue the protest.
