A Gainesville woman was arrested on charges of attempted murder Friday night for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Gainesville Police reported.
Charged was Audrey Lavon Brady, 54, of 2841 SW 37th Place, Apt. 61P, according to an arrest report.
The incident occurred about 9:17 p.m. during an argument in which Brady accused her boyfriend, Bruce Warren Everett, of cheating on her, the report stated.
They have lived together for eight years, the report said.
A witness told police that Brady got a kitchen knife and stabbed Everett several times while Everett tried to fight off the attack, according to the report.
Sgt. Rick Roberts said police found that Everett had a partially severed artery in his neck.
Officer Justin Poirot stopped the bleeding with a trauma kit until emergency medical responders arrived.
Everett was taken to Shands at UF.
Roberts said he was in critical condition.
