Officers continue hunt for New Year's Eve robber


The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6-feet-2, and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black, varsity-style jacket with brown sleeves and “Titans” on the back.

Gainesville Police released enhanced pictures this week from a New Year’s Eve robbery where the suspect wished customers a “Happy New Year” before leaving the store.

The photos show a man entering the CVS Pharmacy, 3404 Archer road, on Dec. 31.

The suspect, who came into the business at about 11:50 p.m., stood in line with a package of paper towels and then told the employee at the counter the would shoot if he didn’t get money. Seven customers were in the store when the man removed the contents of two registers.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6-feet-2, and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black, varsity-style jacket with brown sleeves and “Titans” on the back.
