The national weather service in Jacksonville has issued a freeze watch from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
The first in a wave of reinforcing shots of cold air will arrive Wednesday and persist into Wednesday night.
Inland areas will see 5 to 7 hours of subfreezing temperatures while eastern zones will
be on the order of 2 to 4 hours.
Temperatures over the Suwannee valley will be close to hard freeze conditions, but only in the normally colder locations.
A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible for at least 2 hours. Precautions may be required to protect plants, pets, pipes and those sensitive to the cold if a freeze warning is issued.
