JUPITER, Fla. -- Duke Delcher's 6-foot birdie putt on the final hole gave him and partner Carlton Forrester a one-stroke victory Monday in the 75th Southern International Four-Ball.
Delcher's birdie gave his team a 54-hole total of 26-under-par 190 and avoided a playoff with second-round leaders Paul Couture and Mike Weeks in the tournament's Mid-Am division.
Forrester, an Atlanta investment banker who lists his hometown as Birmingham, Ala., birdied the ninth hole for a 2-shot swing and the lead. Delcher, a Bluffton S.C. businessman, sank birdie putts of 10 to 20 feet on the next five holes to open a 3-stroke lead.
Couture, of Grafton, Mass., and Weeks, of Jupiter, finished at 191.
