The University of Florida's Bassoon Ensemble and Woodwind Quintet performed Thursday at the 65th Annual Florida Music Educators' Association Conference in Tampa.
Starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday at the Tampa Convention Center, the conference features more than 200 individual workshops and breakout sessions and a trade show with more than 400 booths, as well as performances by several invited groups, including All-State orchestras and bands.
Since its formation in 2002, the UF Bassoon Ensemble, led by noted bassoon soloist and UF faculty member Arnold Irchai, has performed at a number of venues and schools, and performs a variety of music for bassoon trios, quartets and duets.
The ensemble is comprised of Jillian Coons, Lindsay Hook, Diane Halsema, Valery Neiberger, Kelsey Rowlings, Tristan Hensley, Greg Lavine and Benjamin Pickos.
