Jacksonville tops SC Upstate 79-69

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Travis Cohn scored 18 points to lead Jacksonville to a 79-69 win over South Carolina Upstate on Monday night.

Cohn added seven rebounds and Ayron Hardy chipped in 15 points and five assists for the Dolphins (4-8, 3-1 Atlantic Sun Conference).

After starting the season with a 2-7 record, Jacksonville has won two of its last three.

The Spartans (2-11, 1-3) were led by Nick Schneiders, who finished with 22 points and nine rebounds. Pat Posey had 19 points, while De'Marion Gordon finished with 16.

After taking a 26-21 lead into the half, Jacksonville opened the second half with an 8-3 run in the first three minutes of play to take a 34-24 lead. The Spartans failed to get any closer than five points the rest of the way.

The Dolphins shot 50 percent in the contest (29-for-58).
