MIAMI — So here’s the question.

Did Percy Harvin get asked about his ankle more during Media Day for the BCS National Championship Game or when he went to Green Cove Spring to visit his family on Christmas Day?

There were plenty on Monday. But on Christmas?

“A thousand,” Harvin said with a smile.

Harvin spent most of the holiday season in the Florida training room where trainers worked feverishly to make sure his injured ankle is a go for Thursday night’s game.

But he did go to Green Cove Spring to visit his mother, sister and niece.

“My teammates have been kidding me that I’ve been with the trainers so much I must be dating them,” Harvin said. “Of course, I wish I hadn’t been hurt as much as I have. But it is what it is. You have to play the cards that are dealt.”

So what’s the word?

“It’s about 90 percent,” Harvin said. “The last two days, I’ve been running routes. I’ve been doing some cutting and stuff and it feels pretty good. My speed is there. I can get to the top end.

“No contact yet. That probably won’t happen until Thursday night.

“It felt a little awkward at first doing the cutting. After practice, it’s sore but you ice it for 10 minutes and it’s fine.”

Harvin suffered the ankle injury against Florida State and missed the SEC Championship Game against Alabama. He also missed the opening game of the season while recovering from heel surgery.

“Sitting out the Alabama game was tough but I knew I had to cheer on my teammates,” he said.

“After we secured that win, it was all about getting me ready. The trainers do a great job of that.”
