MIAMI -- Thousands of shoes were dumped on a Miami expressway causing significant traffic delays.
Lt. Michael Wilfong says the Florida Highway Patrol received the report during rush hour Friday morning. Workers were able to clear the lanes after a short time by sweeping all the shoes to the side of the road. After that, they began collecting the shoes for removal.
Wilfong says he's not sure where the shoes came from. There was no sign of a crash, and no one stopped to claim the shoes.
