With the presidential election just three days away, both candidates for vice president will descend upon North Central Florida this weekend.
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be in Ocala today, while Democratic vice presidential hopeful Joe Biden will be on the University of Florida campus Sunday.
Biden is scheduled to be on the north lawn of the Reitz Union for a speech set to begin at about 4 p.m. Sunday, sources within the Obama campaign confirmed Friday. Biden's wife, Jill, also is scheduled to be there.
Those attending the event at UF will be allowed to enter the area starting at about 1 p.m. Tickets are not required.
Palin, meantime, will be at West Port High School, 3733 SW 80th Ave. in Ocala, for a speech sometime after 2 p.m. today.
Organizers say the gates at the West Port High baseball field will open at noon, and tickets are required. The pre-program entertainment will begin around 2 p.m., with Palin expected to speak some time afterward.
Tickets can be obtained at either http://florida.johnmccain.com/Florida.htm, or at www.johnmccain.com.
