FHP investigates fatal Union County crash

The Florida Highway Patrol investigated a fatal, early morning crash in Union County involving this car and the back end of a semi hauling logs.

A Jacksonville man died early Thursday when his car collided with a truck on State Road 100 in Union County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Killed was Tobie Cornel Young, 37, according to FHP.

Young had been driving west on SR 100 when the truck pulled onto the roadway from NW 124th Avenue. Young 's Toyota Camry hit the rear of the truck, which the Union County Sheriff's Office reported had been hauling lumber.

Young was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 6:40 a.m., according to FHP.

The truck's driver, Albert J. Olgetree, 59, of Lake Butler, was not injured in the accident, troopers reported.
