Emmanuel Moody was officially introduced to Southeastern Conference football last Saturday at Tennessee.

It wasn't like the Texas football he was used to in high school, and it wasn't like the west coast ball at Southern Cal. It was much faster and at times, a little feistier.

"(Tennessee was a) little dirty, but that's part of football," the transfer running back said. "Whatever you can do to try and win, that's what the SEC's gonna try and do."

Moody was relatively absent in UF's first two games. He ran twice for two yards in the opener against Hawaii and didn't even get in against Miami.

Now, Moody could be that feature back UF coach Urban Meyer has always wanted in his offense. Moody ran nine times for 55 yards against the Vols and should get more carries in the coming games.

Moody says he's taking each day as it comes and will continue to wait his turn.

"The biggest thing is just staying patient," he said. "God's taught me a lot with being patient, but next week could go right back to where I was at. We can't promise anything because only God knows and we have no control over what happens in our lives."

Besides a good week of practice, Moody also attributed his decent day on the ground to the rhythm he was able to get into to. He finally felt comfortable in UF's offense.

"When I made a play or something the coaches kept on feeding me the ball," he said. "A running back needs a rhythm because you gotta get warmed up. You can't just get a carry here and a carry there. I feel like the coaches did a good job doing that."
