It's almost here, but you still have to get through most of August until football season finally arrives. So, we'll give you a daily football fix leading right up to the first game on Aug. 28. Sun sports writers Pat Dooley and Robbie Andreu will provide lists, trivia, Swampcasts and essays to get you through the rest of the summer.

Today, Andreu picks the five true freshmen who will have the biggest impact at Florida this season:
1. Will Hill, safety: Urban Meyer has been talking up Omar Hunter since signing day, saying he is the Tim Tebow of this recruiting class. That was before the Gators had all this attrition at safety. With Hill having a chance to start at strong safety, he's going to have a major impact.
2. Matt Patchan, defensive line: He's undersized and may eventually end up back at offensive tackle during his UF career. But for now, this relentless and aggressive athlete is going to provide a big boost to the defensive line, maybe at both tackle and end.
3. Janoris Jenkins, cornerback: He definitely benefited form enrolling early and now knows the defense. He's a strong, instinctive athlete who is working his way into the playing rotation. He's so versatile that the coaches have contemplated giving him a look at the safety positions. For now, though, he's a key player at corner.
4. Omar Hunter, defensive tackle: He's pushing his way through a back problem and is impressing the coaches with his bullish strength and work ethic. He may not start, but it looks like he's going to get serious playing time.
5. Caleb Sturgis, kicker: As he showed in the spring with his 60-yard field goal, Sturgis has a tremendous leg. If the season started today, he'd be UF's starting field goal kicker and kickoff man.
