It's almost here but you still have to get through most of August until football season finally arrives. So we're giving you a daily football fix leading right up to the first games on Aug. 28. Sun sports writers Pat Dooley and Robbie Andreu will provide lists, trivia, Swampcasts and essays to get you through the rest of the summer.

Today, Dooley's got five areas where you'll see improvement this season among SEC teams:
1. Ole Miss offense: The Rebels were last in scoring last season but with Jevan Snead running the show it will get better.
2. South Carolina turnover margin: Only one SEC team was worse than the Gamecocks' -7 turnover ratio. The defense will get more and Steve Spurrier's offense will be more conservative.
3. Tennessee rushing: The Vols can't win the east unless we see a vast improvement in their rushing game. They relied too much on Erik Ainge's arm last season and were ninth in the league in rushing.
4. Florida pass defense: It has to be better, right? The mighty Gators were last in the league in pass defense and allowed opponents to complete 59.4 percent of their passes. A better pass rush would help.
5. Arkansas passing: With Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, the Razorbacks kept the ball on the ground. They're gone as is Houston Nutt. Bobby Petrino will pitch it around. Certainly, Arkansas will do better than 11th in the league in passing.
