Williston's annual Gospel Music Festival will feature the nationally known gospel singer — and Gainesville native — Beverly Crawford, on Saturday.
The free event will be held in the Williston Elementary School cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crawford, who was born and raised in Gainesville and is known for her appearances with the New Life Singers on "Bobby Jones Gospel" on BET, will appear from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Grammy nominated Crawford today leads the BAM Crawford Ministries in Inglewood, Calif.
Saturday's event will also feature area vendors selling food, clothing, and art and crafts.
About 400 people are expected to attend the festival to see the line up of choirs, soloists, rap and other musical acts, said Mimi Johnson, the event's program coordinator.
"We try to cover everybody," Johnson said.
Williston Elementary School is located at 801 S. Main St., in Williston. Admission is free. Those interested in participating in the programs or setting up a vendor booth should contact Johnson at (352) 361-6528.
