Gainesville Police were investigating a report of an assault involving a suspect armed with a knife at an area restaurant early Friday.
A person reportedly pulled a knife on a customer at McDonald's, 201 NW 13th St., shortly before 7 a.m., said Lt. Matt Nechodom. Police were questioning the individual, and employees who witnessed the incident. There were no reports anyone was injured. But police said the man, who was being questioned, apparently held a steak knife a few inches from the victim's neck.
Nechodom said that, based on initial information from the scene, the suspect had been involved in a dispute with the alleged victim. Passers-by reported seen numerous emergency and police vehicles at the location Friday morning.
