OT, Jr., Alabama
Why he's No. 6: One of the most dominant offensive tackles in college football, Smith has started all 26 games of his Alabama career at left tackle, going back to his true freshman season. As a sophomore in 2007, he earned All-SEC honors and also was the co-winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, which goes to the conference's best blocker every year. He was rated the No. 1 prospect in the nation coming out of high school by several recruiting services and has lived up to the expectations thus far.
Key number: 1. The number of sacks Smith gave up in 46 pass attempts in the Tide's 41-17 victory over Tennessee last season.
Fun fact: Smith is the only offensive lineman ever named Mr. Football in the state of Alabama. Here's one reason why he picked up the award — he recorded 88 pancake blocks in his senior season at Huffman High School in Birmingham.
