Joakim Noah signed a deferred prosecution agreement that will result in six months probation and he will pay a $200 fine, the State Attorney's office confirmed Tuesday.

"Joakim was remorseful and very much wanted to resolve what happened," State Attorney's office spokesman Spencer Mann said Tuesday.

Noah was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis and an open container of alcohol violation early Sunday morning in downtown Gainesville. As a first-time offender, Noah was eligible for the deferred prosecution agreement. Of the $200 fine, $150 will go toward a charitable contribution that provides restitution for juvenile offenders.

The charges will be dropped in six months if Noah meets terms of his probation, Mann said.

Noah also must pay $206 in traffic fines for a pair of citations he received Sunday night on the Florida campus. Noah was ticketed for driving with a suspended license without knowledge and not wearing a seat belt.
