Police: Burglary suspect returned for cell phone
A burglar apparently returned to the scene of the crime after he lost his cell phone and ended up under arrest, Gainesville Police reported.
Titus L. Bowman, 35, was being held at the Alachua County jail on a $125,000 bond Thursday, jail records showed.
Officers arrested Bowman Tuesday after a break-in at a home in the 6600 block of NW 32nd Street, said Gainesville Police spokeswoman Officer Summer Hallett.
Police found a cell phone inside the home that they thought could be the suspect's phone. Later the same day, neighbors spotted the same vehicle outside the residence that police thought might be the burglar's vehicle, Hallett said. Officers believe the man had returned for the phone, but he was stopped by police as he was trying to leave the area.
Police identified the suspect as Bowman. A furniture delivery driver who travels statewide, Bowman could be linked to other cases and officers were investigating that possibility, Hallett said.
Bowman is facing burglary charges stemming from the recent break-ins at the home and an earlier burglary that occurred in Feburary, Hallett said.

Police seek men who robbed Domino's driver
Robbers held up a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint Wednesday night in a southwest Alachua County neighborhood, deputies reported.
The Domino's Pizza employee had been making a delivery to 901 SW 62nd Terrace when two men stopped and threatened him, according to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
The robbery occurred shortly after 10 p.m.
An order had been placed from a private number asking for a $40 delivery to the address, said Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Steve Maynard.
When the 23-year-old employee arrived, he was met by the suspects. One told the driver to give him all the money and get out of his car. The robber then searched the vehicle, took the cash and pointed a gun at the employee, demanding more.
The 23-year-old employee wasn't injured during the robbery and was able to drive away after the suspects took a minimal amount of money and the pizzas, said Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Steve Maynard.
Both suspects were described as black males, about 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10, approximately 140 to 160 pounds, and in their late teens or early 20s. One wore a black scarf around his face.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 955-1818 or to call Crime Stoppers at 372-7867.
