The brother of Terri Schiavo, a Florida woman who was at the center of the debate over life and death issues, will speak Friday at a High Springs church.
Bobby Schindler will talk about the case of his sister who died in 2005 after the courts ordered the removal of her feeding tube. The topic of Schindler's appearance will be: “Terri's Story and the Church's Teaching on Feeding and Hydration of Incapacitated Persons.”
The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Madeleine Catholic Church, 17155 NW U.S. 441, in High Springs.
Schiavo had been in a vegetative state after she suffered brain damage. A legal fight ensued over the disagreement between her husband and her family on the decision to remove a feeding tube she needed to survive. Her death occurred 15 years after she first collapsed.
