I-75 crash victim dies

The second of three people injured in an Interstate 75 crash in Columbia
County earlier this week died Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol
Lawyer B. Stanley, 76, of Miami was pronounced dead at Shands at the
University of Florida, according to troopers.
Stanley was ejected from a Mercury sport utility vehicle in a wreck about
two miles north of State Road 47. The crash occurred Sunday shortly before
The vehicle's driver, Carroll Flowers, 68, of Miami, had been driving
south in the road's center lane, troopers said. She attempted to change
lanes and lost control of the SUV. It overturned several times.
Neither passenger in the vehicle, Stanley and Dorothy Stanley Belcher, 53,
of Miami, were wearing seat belts, according to FHP. Both were thrown from
Belcher died at the scene of the crash.
Flowers, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries in the
single-vehicle crash, troopers reported.
