New Orleans native Pete Zimek recently opened a Crescent City-themed coffee and ice cream shop on SW Archer Road and has pledged 20 percent of April's profits to the Red Cross in Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Southeast Louisiana.

Bourbon St. Coffee and Ben & Jerry's serves coffee and espresso supplied by Gainesville roaster Sweetwater Coffee. The new shop is at 3773 SW Archer Road, across from the Atlanta Bread Co. It has drive-through service and free WiFi.

Pete and Jen Zimek partnered with Ben & Jerry's franchisee Geoff Wilson in January 2006.

Pete Zimek, whose grandmother's home was partially submerged during Hurricane Katrina, participated in New Orleans relief efforts with Ben & Jerry's franchisees from across the country.
