Investigators have obtained arrest warrants for two men accused in last week's bank robbery in Hawthorne, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office reported.

Officers are searching for Joseph A. Williams, 20, and Shelton Morris, 22, in connection with Friday's robbery at the M&S Bank, 6875 SE 221st St., according the Sheriff's Office.

Williams, who is the accused gunman in the case, is considered armed and dangerous, said Detective Dale Buffenmyer.

A man carrying a handgun robbed the bank Friday morning and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. A shot was fired into the ground outside the bank. No one was injured although one person was treated for stress-related problems related to the hold-up.

Evidence found during the investigation led to the arrest warrants for the two men, who may be staying in the Cedar Ridge area.

Anyone with information about the two are asked to call the Alachua County Sheriff's Office at 955-1818. Callers also can be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest by contacting Crime Stoppers at 372-7867.
