ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Rams agreed to contract terms with wide receiver Reche Caldwell on Tuesday, adding depth to the position.

Caldwell got a one-year contract.

The 28-year-old Caldwell played for the Washington Redskins last year when Al Saunders was that team’s offensive coordinator. Saunders now has that job with the Rams.

Caldwell caught 15 passes in eight games last year, with a 17.6-yard average. In 2006, he caught 61 passes with a 12.5-yard average and four touchdowns for New England. He spent his first four seasons with the Chargers after being selected in the second round of the 2002 draft.

JAGUARS: Tight end Greg Estandia, safety Jamaal Fudge and defensive ends Jeremy Mincey (former Gator) and James Wyche signed one-year tender offers with Jacksonville.

Mincey had 12 tackles and a sack in six games. Wyche spent the season on injured reserve because of a groin injury. Both defensive linemen could help the Jaguars replace another former Gator, Bobby McCray, who signed as a free agent with New Orleans.

BUCCANEERS: Defensive end, and former Gator, Kevin Carter re-signed with Tampa Bay on Tuesday less than a month after the Buccaneers released him in a cost-cutting move.

Carter, who would have been due a $2 million roster bonus, was cut just before the start of the free agent signing period.

The veteran of 13 NFL seasons ranks third among active players with 101.5 career sacks. He played 12 years with St. Louis, Tennessee and Miami before spending the 2007 season with Tampa Bay.
